Star of Honolulu · Aloha Tower, Pier 8

Three Star lobster and steak

The same ship and the same sunset as the buffet, with a five-course dinner served at your table: a whole Maine lobster and beef tenderloin on one plate. It is the tier for birthdays and anniversaries, and the only Star tier on Viator with hotel pickup from select locations.

Three Star Lobster & Steak Sunset Cruise

About this experience

Three Star is the middle tier on the Star of Honolulu. You board at Pier 8 at Aloha Tower Marketplace with everyone else, get a hula welcome and a "Champagne" toast, and then dinner comes to you in five courses. The operator's menu lists a cheese and tropical fruit display, a Hawaiian greens salad with lilikoi tarragon vinaigrette, a 1 lb+ whole Nova Scotia Maine lobster with tenderloin of beef in Madeira wine sauce, and a Hawaiian mango mousse cake. You get two premium drinks with it.

Live Hawaiian music plays through the evening and jazz during dinner. Then comes the Moku Ola Polynesian show and the dance party, the same show the buffet guests see. One guest wrote that she thought you had to choose lobster or steak, "but you get both". On Fridays the ship stays out until about 8:20 PM for a chance at the Waikiki fireworks.

The rating is 4.4, lower than the other two tiers, and the reviews explain why. Some guests found the tables tight and the room crowded, some found the cocktails weak. Most still loved the lobster. If you want a quieter room with your own table, Nova Five Star is the upgrade; if lobster is not the point, the buffet cruise gives you the same show for less.

What guests say

★★★★★

Great evening. Crew was well organized boarded and disembarking the ship. The food was excellent. Large lobster with both claws and a fillet steak were delicious. Luau show was very nice. And since it was Friday we got the fireworks show.

Just book it! [...] It was so nice that we didn't need to worry about transportation. Everything was more than I expected! The food was amazing. For some reason, I thought you would select lobster or steak, but you get both!

The staff and service on The Star of Honolulu was fantastic. The food was very good and so was the entertainment. We cruised on a Friday, so we also saw the fireworks. I would highly recommend this dinner cruise.
