Oahu sunset dinner cruise prices

The Star of Honolulu sells three sunset dinner cruises on the same ship, at the same hour. The cheapest is $139 on Viator, the dearest $236, and the gap buys lobster, a served dinner and, at the top, a private table.

Every evening at 5:30 PM the Star of Honolulu leaves Aloha Tower with three kinds of ticket on board: the Pacific Star buffet and show cruise, the Three Star lobster and steak dinner, and the Nova Five Star dinner with jazz on the top deck. Same sunset, same route, very different evenings and prices.

Prices below are the live Viator from-prices and the operator's own published prices in October 2026. Both move, so the checkout price is the one that counts.

The quick answer

The buffet and show cruise is from $139 per person on Viator, the Three Star lobster dinner from $193 (with pickup from select hotels) and the Nova Five Star from $236. The operator's site lists $128.88, $178.95 and $218.82 per adult. Children 3 to 11 pay less and under-3s on a lap are free. Extra drinks, tips and photos cost extra on every tier.

How much does an Oahu sunset dinner cruise cost in 2026?

On the Star of Honolulu, from $139 per person for the buffet and show cruise up to $236 for the Nova Five Star dinner with jazz.

Sunset catamarans from Waikiki are cheaper, from $85, but they serve drinks and snacks rather than a dinner. For a full sit-down dinner on the water, the three Star tiers are the bookable choices.

Is it cheaper to book direct or on Viator?

The operator's own site shows lower headline prices, and in 2026 it offers a code worth $20 per adult on non-Friday buffet cruises; Viator states that its $139 includes Hawaii state tax and harbor fees.

Compare the final totals for your date. Booking direct can save money, above all from Saturday to Thursday on the buffet cruise, when the code works. Viator gives you free cancellation up to 24 hours before, one account for all your Oahu bookings and over a thousand guest reviews in one place. The operator cancels free up to 24 hours before too, for parties of one to nine.

What do children pay?

Children 3 to 11 pay a child price, and children 2 and under sitting on a parent's lap go free.

On the operator's site the child prices are $76.96 on the buffet cruise, $107.55 on Three Star and $131.66 on Nova. Viator treats guests 12 and over as adults. For a family, the buffet cruise has the lowest child price.

What does the buffet ticket include, and what is extra?

It includes the two-hour cruise, the Pacific Rim buffet, one Mai Tai, coffee and tea, the live music and the Moku Ola show, plus tax and harbor fees on Viator.

Extra: other drinks, hotel pickup, gratuities for your server and souvenir photos. Payment on board is by Visa, Mastercard, Discover or JCB. See the buffet and show guide for the full menu.

Is the lobster tier worth the extra money?

If lobster and a served dinner matter to you, yes: on Viator the Three Star costs $54 more per person and adds five courses, a toast, two drinks and pickup from select hotels.

Because the buffet ticket does not include transport, the real gap is smaller if you would otherwise pay for the Waikiki coach. Ratings are close: the buffet cruise rates 4.6 from 1,096 reviews and Three Star 4.4 from 1,489. Fans praise the size of the lobster and the tender steak; one guest called the meal not deluxe for the price and another found it hot without air conditioning.

What does the Nova Five Star add?

Quiet: the Super Nova room on the highest deck, a private table, a five-course dinner with lobster and USDA Prime tenderloin, and live jazz.

It is the grown-up option for anniversaries. One guest who had tried both wrote that Nova was much more refined but less entertaining than the livelier buffet and show cruise. Viator confirms Nova bookings within 48 hours if you book within five days of travel. The listing header says 3 hours; its inclusions describe a two-hour cruise, three hours on Fridays.

What extra costs should you budget for?

Plan for drinks beyond the included ones, a tip for your server, transport to the pier and any souvenir photos.

  • Transport: the operator's round-trip coach from Waikiki (its FAQ quotes $20), a taxi, or parking in a nearby lot.
  • Tips: not included on any tier.
  • Celebrations: the operator's Celebration Plan is $37 per person (minimum two) for a window table and a photo.
  • Own cake: allowed with 24 hours' notice for a $32 cakeage fee; candles are not allowed.

Budget sorted? The buffet cruise is the lowest-priced Star of Honolulu ticket with dinner and the show.

Are there cheaper ways to see the sunset from the water?

Yes, if you can skip dinner: Waikiki sunset sails start around $85 with an open bar, and the catamaran cocktail cruise is $120 with a bento box.

They are shorter (about 90 minutes), board closer to most Waikiki hotels and feel more like a sail than a night out. Compare them in sunset catamaran or dinner cruise.
